Christian school teacher with record of sex crimes accused of twerking with student

A former Christian school teacher who had previously been charged with sex crimes involving a student is in more hot water.

The ex-teacher has been accused of twerking with a student at the Point of Grace Christian School prom in Perry, Fla., on April 8, according to WCTV-TV.

The student felt “uncomfortable” with the dancing, according to the report.

Others at the dance told police they tried to stop the teacher from twerking, according to PEOPLE.

The student also said the former math teacher coerced him into drinking alcohol at the event.

Julie Hoover, 39, was charged with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student, according to WCTV-TV.

Hoover was arrested on Sept. 7 but is not in police custody.

PEOPLE had reported in June that Hoover had been released on $15,000 bond after she was charged with one count of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in sex with a student, following the allegations of an 18-year-old student’s mother, who claimed she found explicit messages between the ex-teacher and her son.
