Homicide squad investigating after man, woman found dead in North York home

Homicide investigators were brought in after a man and a woman were found dead in a home in North York on Saturday.

The two were found in a home in the area around Glendora Ave. and Burnwell St. just north east of Yonge St. and Hwy. 401.

The call came in to police at about 11 a.m.

“Our officers have unfortunately located two deceased individuals inside a residence,” said Toronto Police spokesperson Alex Li.

Early indications Saturday pointed to this being a “murder/suicide,” according to police.

The ages and identities of the victims have not yet been released, nor have police described the connection between the two deceased.

“The evidence points to this being an isolated incident with no outstanding suspects. There is no threat to public safety or any nearby residents,” said Li.

Area residents were being told to expect detectives to be canvassing for information.

“Residents can expect a higher than normal police presence,” said Li. “Our forensics unit is on scene to assist.”

The deaths happened in 32 Division where police are looking for any additional information.

“We’re appealing to anyone with any information, whether it might be surveillance, dashcam, etc., they’re urged to contact Toronto Police,” said Li.
