One person dead following three overnight shootings

One person is dead and another injured following three separate shootings overnight.

In a call about gun play that proved fatal, Toronto Police said they received reports about a person shot near Keele St. and Sheppard Ave. W. in North York.

“Officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound,” police tweeted. “Injuries appear life-threatening.”

Paramedics took the patient, described in reports as a male teen, to hospital by an emergency run, where he was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not been made public.

A firearm was recovered in that incident, and the investigation continues.

In another incident, police received a call about a shooting near Keele St. and Wilson Ave. near Downsview Park in North York at 1:29 a.m.

Police have said a “person attended a hospital on their own with a gunshot wound.”

The person’s injuries were listed as serious.

The investigation into what happened continues.

In the third report of overnight gunfire, police said they received reports of gunshots heard near Caledonia Rd. and Eglinton Ave. W.

Officers who arrived on scene found evidence that a firearm had been discharged.

“Officers have located a vehicle with damage sustained from gunfire,” police tweeted about that incident.

There were no reports of any injuries.
