Man critically injured in daylight shooting downtown

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and another person is in custody after shots rang out in downtown Toronto late Tuesday afternoon.

Toronto Police were called around 5:15 p.m. to the Sherbourne St.-Queen St. E. area for reports of someone shot.

Cops arrived on scene and found a man with gunshot wounds and injuries that appeared serious.

Toronto paramedics took the injured man to hospital and Sherbourne St. was closed between Shuter St. and Queen St. E.

A firearm was recovered at the scene by police.
