We’ve all been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Even though it was created as a marketing slogan to shill cereal, the ubiquitous phrase has become drilled in our heads.

But even those who scoff at the blanket statement know how vital a good breakfast is while travelling.

In fact, it might be the one thing that can drag a person out of a cozy hotel bed.

Aside from the beaches, pools, museums and other holidaymakers enjoy, a first-rate breakfast can sometimes be the best part of a holiday because if you start your day deliciously right, then what could go wrong?

The folks at Mornings.co.uk researched which international hotel breakfasts had vacationers swooning over their satisfied bellies. They used three search terms (“best breakfast,” “great breakfast” and “excellent breakfast”) on Tripadvisor to determine which hotels were considered top-notch.

Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia came in at No. 10 with 3,089 glowing reviews.

Meanwhile, the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa in Antigua & Barbuda took ninth place with 3,244 raves.

Cuba’s Iberostar Parque Central placed eighth with 3,445 delectable mentions. One traveler wrote: “I am sure this is the best breakfast that any city hotel has in Havana. So much variety, fruits, jams, cheese, pastries, sealed yogurt, eggs at your choice, natural juice, butter, oats, coffee, milk, you will love it.”

It shouldn’t be too surprising that the Pan Pacific Singapore came in seventh with 3,453 travellers gushing over their brekkies.
