Jeep Gladiator sees Earl grey paint option for 2023

The past year has been a very colourful one for the Jeep brand, and I mean that literally. The SUV manufacturer seems like it’s been expanding the available paint palette on its most popular models every other month. It started in late 2021, when Tuscadero pink, a “deep and intense chromatic magenta,” joined the 2022 Wrangler’s option list, alongside shades like Gecko, Chief, and Nacho. Then in March 2022, Gobi tan returned to Gladiator for a limited time; in July, it was Reign, a vivid purple colour, on Wrangler; and in August, it was Gladiator’s turn again with High Velocity, a highlighter yellow hue. Just last month, right around Hallowe’en, we saw Punk’n orange join the Wrangler order catalog.

And it doesn’t look like Jeep plans to slow down the pace. Late November, it announced it’d be bringing Earl, “a bold shade of grey with hints of aquamarine,” to the option list for the Canadian-market 2023 Gladiator, a colour that Wrangler owners had already had a swing at when it bowed on that model alongside the aforementioned purple Reign mid-2022.

“The Jeep community voiced a ton of positive feedback for Earl when it debuted on the Gladiator Farout concept,” said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “We work to deliver what our customers tell us they want, and Earl is the latest example of another standout shade that speaks to our loyal and avid Jeep community.”

Like most of those other special shades outlined above, the MSRP on Earl runs about $495 in Canada, and, yes, you can order it now on all Gladiator trims, including Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave. It joins a swath of other eye-catching exterior paint options, like that High Velocity I mentioned, as well as Firecracker Red, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Silver Zynith, Sting-Grey, Granite Crystal, black and Bright White.
