PORTAGE — Two cars caught fire after a crash at a Portage gas station Monday morning.
The Portage Fire Department responded to reports of a crash at a Family Express gas station, located at 5901 U.S. 6, shortly after 11:30 Monday morning. Battalion Chief Teresa Janovitz said a Ford Taurus hit a Ford Explorer and a gas pump and both vehicles caught fire.
One person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, Janovitz said. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
The owner of the Family Express was on the scene. Janovitz said the gas station hopes to reopen this evening.
The Portage Police Department and Precision Towing assisted on the scene.
