An Edmonton reporter suffered a scary medical emergency during a live broadcast on Sunday.
Jessica Robb, a journalist at CTV Edmonton, was in the middle of her report when she began speaking incoherently and then was unable to string a sentence together.
Robb tried to smile through it but got across to news anchor Nahreman Issa that something wasn’t quite right.
“Sorry, Nahreman,” Robb said in the concerning footage posted online. “I’m not feeling very well right now and I’m about to …”
Robb can be seen teetering and looking towards the person behind the camera before the broadcast goes to Issa in the studio.
“We will make sure that Jessica is OK, and we’ll give you guys an update a little bit later,” Issa assures the audience.
CTV did not reveal what caused Robb’s medical issue but released a statement from her on Monday.
“On Sunday night, a very personal and vulnerable moment unfolded as I reported live on air,” Robb said in the statement. “Since then, it has been shared thousands of times, along with baseless theories about the cause.”
She went on to thank those who sent her words of support, well wishes and concern before quashing rumours surrounding the incident.
“I have also received an overwhelming amount of harassment and hatred, tied to false theories about the reason for the incident,” Robb said.
“While I will not share private medical information publicly, I can say that there is no cause for concern and that my understanding of my own medical background provides a reasonable explanation for what happened.”

She pointedly added: “I can, however, confirm that the situation was in no way related to the COVID-19 vaccine.”
It is not known when Robb will return.
