Montreal man wanted on human trafficking charge in Ontario arrested in Saskatoon

Mahad Farrah, 22 of Montreal, was wanted on four charges related to human trafficking.

Saskatoon police have arrested a 22-old-man from Montreal on a Canada-wide warrant for offences related to human trafficking.

Peel Regional Police in Ontario sought Mahad Farrah, of Montreal, on the warrant. In a media release, Saskatoon police said Farrah was arrested the evening of Jan. 5, in the 1200 block of Avenue C North after officers conducted a vehicle stop.

In an email to the StarPhoenix, police said no charges are pending against him in Saskatoon, and that the arrest was made during a routine traffic stop, during which the Canada-wide warrant was confirmed.

Saskatoon police said the Vice and Human Trafficking Unit is making arrangements for Farrah to be transported back to Ontario.

Peel Regional Police said Farrah faces charges related to human trafficking including advertising sexual services, communicating with anyone for the purposes of obtaining sexual services, exercising control and material benefit from sexual services.
