Humboldt Broncos goaltender Jared Picklyk has been charged after a pickup truck hit a house in Humboldt, Sask. over the weekend.
He was subsequently suspended by the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Picklyk, 20, from Kelowna, B.C. was arrested at the scene of what was initially reported to Humboldt RCMP as single vehicle collision around 1:25 a.m. on Saturday. The initial investigation found the truck had “left the roadway” and hit a house, RCMP said in a media release on Monday. No one was injured, according to police.
Police allege that Picklyk was the driver. He is charged with one count of refusing to comply with a breath screening demand.
Police continue to investigate the crash in Humboldt.
“The SJHL and the Humboldt Broncos are cooperating with authorities and will not be making any further comments about the matter,” the league said in a Facebook post.

He played in 12 regular season games and three playoff games this season. He previously played for the Western Hockey League’s Lethbridge Hurricanes.
He is expected to appear in Humboldt provincial court on May 8.
