Some are taking Prince Harry to task for praising the benefits of drug use.
Harry said during a live-streamed interview that using cannabis “really helped” him to deal with mental health issues stemming from the death of his mother, Diana, according to the Daily Mail.
Harry also talked up the “positive” experience of using ayahuasca, a psychedelic drug. Harry said it helped him relax and gain a lightness that he held on to for a while.
Harry was talking to therapist Dr. Gabor Mate, a supporter of decriminalising drugs who has allegedly used ayahuasca to treat patients suffering mental illness, the Daily Mail reported.
Harry did say that cocaine “didn’t do anything for me.”
Fiona Spargo-Mabbs, who launched a drugs education charity in her son Daniel’s name after he died of an accidental MDMA overdose aged 16, described the comments as “concerning” to the Daily Mail.

“Our work is with under-18s and our concern is that this can send a message that is going to make young people think that drugs are going to help them with stuff that is really difficult,” she said.
TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp also criticised Harry, tweeting: “If you have a vast platform you don’t mouth off about using illegal drugs, the trade which kills people.”
