London police investigate 'suspicious' fire


London police have deemed a fireplace at Ark Assist Road Mission that brought about an estimated $50,000 ‘suspicious.’


Crews responded to the fireplace within the 600 block of Dundas Road round 6 p.m. Tuesday.


Whereas the fireplace was mentioned to be fast paced as a result of wind, firefighters have been capable of extinguish the blaze.


"Ark Assist Road Mission has suffered a horrible incident of fireside at our 696 Dundas St. main constructing. Your entire rear of the constructing together with our storage shed, stairwell and areas main into our kitchen and our sanctuary residence have been affected,” Ark Assist wrote on Fb.


Fireplace officers the fireplace was principally contained to the outside of the constructing, nonetheless, some smoke travelled to the inside.


“We're extremely grateful for the primary responders — notably the fireplace fighters that attended and resolved the fireplace effectively and with no accidents or individuals effected,” Ark Assist wrote.


There have been no accidents reported.


The fireplace was decided to be suspicious in nature, and the investigation was turned over to the London Police Service Road Crime Unit with assist from the fireplace division.


Police say the investigation is ongoing.
