Russia has accused Israel of supporting "the neo-Nazi regime" in Kyiv amid a deepening dispute between the nations sparked when Russian International Minister Sergei Lavrov steered Adolf Hitler was half Jewish.

On Tuesday, the Russian International Ministry criticized Israeli International Minister Yair Lapid, who was angered by Lavrov's comment that "Hitler additionally had Jewish blood." Lapid stated Lavrov had made an "unforgivable and outrageous assertion in addition to a horrible historic error."

However on its Telegram social media channel, the Russian International Ministry doubled down on its stance.

"We observed the anti-historical statements of Israeli International Minister Yair Lapid, which largely clarify the course of the present Israeli authorities to assist the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv."

Russia has repeatedly justified its invasion of Ukraine as a method to free its neighbor from neo-Nazis. Moscow stated that regardless of laws signed in 2020 by Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, who's Jewish, "on a regular basis and political anti-Semitism and Nazism usually are not suppressed" and that "quite the opposite, they're nurtured."
