Brampton man, 26, dead after two shot in nightclub

One of two people wounded in a shooting at a downtown nightclub early Sunday morning has died.

Toronto Police on Monday identified the male victim as Pardeep Brar, 26, of Brampton.

He is Toronto’s 39th homicide of the year.

Toronto Police said two people were seriously wounded in the shooting at EFS Social Club at 647 King St. W. — an incident that came just hours after another man was shot dead near Union Station.

Officers from 14 Division were doing crowd control near the King St.-Bathurst St. area when they heard the sound of gunshots.

A man without vital signs — Brar — was found inside the club and police started CPR before paramedics arrived. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and later died.

A 24-year-old female victim found inside suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was treated and released from hospital.

There is no suspect information.
