Man, 49, dead in shooting at North York indoor soccer field

A triple shooting at an indoor soccer field in North York on Sunday night left a Woodbridge man dead.

Toronto Police were called to La Liga Sports Complex on Finch Ave. W., just west of Dufferin St., around 7:20 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Officers found three men with gunshot wounds. Edwin Farley Alvarado Quintero, 49, was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries. He is the city’s 56th homicide victim of the year.

Two other men were also taken to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
